GV Bush Bash League

Overview

Rural Victoria’s first franchised T20 competition, promoting cricket to all community groups leveraging the success of the Big Bash with the support of Cricket Australia and Cricket Victoria.

The valley’s best will go head-to-head, with teams made up of at least 1 U19 player and up to 2 key players, giving others the chance to play with and against the best cricketers in the region for a fun, fast paced competition for both the community and players. To be eligible, players must be registered for the current cricket season. Games will be free entry with the option of a gold coin donation.

Brief

Cricket Shepparton wanted to create a franchised T20 Competition modelled on the success of the Darling Downs Bush Bash League in Queensland along with, of course, the Big Bash League. The goal was to bring a sence of excitement about the sport back to the community and encourage young players to get involved.

Solution

We created a brand based around the hype of T20 cricket and to lend itself to any area in country Victoria. The firey orange brings a sense of urgency and suggests a fast paced environment, typical of T20 cricket. It also highlights the word ‘Bush’, linking back to country Victoria. The ‘A’ from ‘Bash’ is emphasised to support its meaning, looking as though it has ‘bashed’ the ball for a 6 as it flies up over the lettering. The flow of the lines coming off the ‘A’ represent the movement and flow of the game. We also took a series of photos to complient the brand, taken at various angles to create depth of field and feel as though they are part of the action.
